Be an official resident (permanent residency is not required).
Show financial capability, either with a monthly income of at least $15,000 per helper or sufficient assets to cover a two-year contract.
Required Documents for Submission to the Immigration Department:
- Standard Employment Contract
- Visa/Extension Application Form (ID988A)
- Employer's Application Form (ID988B)

Employers Must Provide:
- Hong Kong ID: Non-permanent residents need copies of their passport's front page, signature, and latest activated visa. HKID submission is required later for visa approval.
- Proof of Residential Address: Utility bills (within 3 months) matching the address on the employment contract. Additional documents are needed if the address is under a company or public housing.

- Tax assessment (HKD $180,000+ per year).
- Bank/salary statements (HKD $15,000+ per month for 3 months).
- Evidence of substantial assets (HKD $350,000+).
- For self-employed/company directors: Tax assessments, company profit tax returns, or evidence of business assets.

Special Cases:

For a Domestic Helper Performing Driving Duties:
- Vehicle registration document (or a company letter if registered under a company).
- Valid motor vehicle license.
- Supporting letter explaining the need for a helper-driver.
Domestic Helpers Need to Submit:
- Hong Kong ID.
- Passport front page (at least 2 years validity recommended).
- Most recent Hong Kong employment visa.
- Full copy of the latest employment contract.
- Letter of release/ID407E form from the previous employer.
